Natural turquoise nuggets and pinshell Heishi with coral

Turquoise, Coral, Shell and Pinshell.

This piece includes heishi beads, among the oldest continuous jewellery forms in North America, originating from the Kewa Pueblo of New Mexico and predating metalworking by thousands of years.

Dating from the late nineteenth to mid twentieth century, made entirely by hand using traditional techniques developed across the Navajo, Zuni and Hopi nations.
