Across Navajo and Southwestern silversmithing the cross holds multiple meanings, representing the four cardinal directions and four sacred mountains and in some traditions celestial bodies, alongside the Christian cross introduced through Spanish colonial contact.
Made by Sebastian Cilento, a Sydney jeweller trained in New Mexico who works in sterling silver and gold.
